How to setup and use Keltner Channel Indicators
20.09.2011
The CitiFX Pro platform is fully customisable, allowing FX traders to create bespoke, personal trading environments. Unlike other FX platforms on the market, the Citi Pro software allows traders to easily create charts and add indicators – all at the click of a button.
In this blog post we will discuss how to setup and use the Keltner Channel indicator. The Keltner Channel is a moving average band indicator which adapts to change in market volatility based on the average true range. The Keltner Channel can indicate price breakouts, show trends, and give buy and sell readings.
If you want to apply the Keltner Channel indicator go to:
Trading > Charts >
> Trends > Keltner Channel.
Once this has been selected, a properties menu will pop up (see below). This menu allows you to adjust the indicator settings, from the moving average period right down to the colour of the bands.

Once you have adjusted the settings to suit your preferences, click ‘OK’. The indicator will then be displayed as an overlay on top of the current chart (See below).

If you wish to make any further changes to the indicator overlay, simply right click on the study icon on the top left of the chart (see screenshot). You can then adjust the properties.

You may also wish to change the chart or add annotations. Chart settings can be found by right clicking anywhere on the chart and selecting ‘Settings’. There are also additional settings that can be found on the menu bar above the chart.

If you wish to make annotations directly onto the chart, simply click on: ![]()
This will then bring up a tools menu allowing you to add diagrams and text.

As you can see, customising the charts and adjusting indicators is a breeze. And if you get stuck, just click F1, which brings up a comprehensive help menu.
